A Chance To Love Ch. 06

He wanted to make love to her and could the desire to do so burning his veins, but his desire wasn’t the only thing aflame. Kaia’s sweet little body blazed hot for him. She spread her legs wide to accommodate him between them, and let out a moan of pleasure as she felt his fingers probe her female core.
“Oh, yes, Chance,” she rasped, passionately as she ran her fingers through his silky blond tresses and writhed hotly beneath him. Spasms of ecstasy rippled throughout her body as his seeking caresses brought her to the edge of satisfaction. Her wetness sent him on a frantic mission of utter fulfillment that took flight only to crash and burn moments later. Chance let out a deep growl as he took control of his lust and fought the desire exploding within him.
“Chance? What’s wrong?” she asked, shaking with unspent passion as he rolled away and sat on the edge of the bed. “Chance?”
“Kaia, you know we can’t.”
“Chance?” she asked, confused. She moved and kneeled behind him, her hands resting on his shoulders. She began to massage the tension out of them, her hands tenderly kneading his flesh. “Talk to me.”
“We can’t do this. I don’t have anything here. You know I don’t want kids.” Chance pulled away and silently gathered his clothes as a flustered Kaia sputtered and struggled to make sense of his rejection. “Get dressed.”
His voice sounded cold, distant. Kaia pressed her hand against her kiss-swollen lips as she watched him yank his clothes back on. What had went wrong, she wondered, her mind spinning. They had both wanted it. Was he angry that they had almost made love? Angry at whom? Her or himself? As her thoughts wandered she did as he ordered. She found her discarded clothing and began to redress herself. She wondered whether or not to tell him her secret. How would he react to it? Would it make their intimate relationship easier to deal with? Would it matter? She knew how he felt about having kids. Would her news make things easier? Would he be more open to making love to her once she told him? She knew only time would tell. Perhaps it was the thing their relationship needed. She knew they both wanted to make love to each other. Her news could free them if…if she got up the nerve to tell him.
Chance disappeared into the bathroom and moments later returned carrying her bag of belongings. He tossed them on the bed and went to finish cleaning the kitchen. She noticed his face was still a storm cloud of warring emotions. Kaia remained seated on the bed as she watched his every fluid move, unsure what to do next.
“Let’s go!” he said as he grabbed his keys. Kaia docilely followed him out the door and waited as he locked it up. She headed down the walkway to the stairs behind him, her head hanging low. As they reached the bottom, he took hold of her arm and led her over to the truck. He pressed the button on his remote entry key and unlocked the doors for her. She stood there, waiting for him to open it for her, and nodded her thanks as he did so. She flashed him a pretty smile as she climbed inside the truck cab and allowed him to close behind her. She grinned lasciviously as she noticed the truck had one big seat instead of two- bucket seats. This meant she could slide up next to him.
He noticed her peculiar smile as he climbed in next to her and could only guess what she may be thinking. Who knew how a woman’s mind worked, he scoffed inwardly. Then he mentally cursed his lack of self-control and started the truck’s engine, revving it up, gunning it loudly, a certain sign of his malcontent. Kaia watched his face, and saw the look in his green eyes. He was angry…but at what? At her? At himself? If only he’d talk to her.
Silence hovered in the air as he drove over to the house she lived in with Morgan and Michael…so silent she swore she could have heard a pin drop yet her heart screamed, “Talk to me!!!”
As he pulled into the driveway, he parked in front of the double garage that adjoined the one story southwestern ranch style house. Its bright white stucco exterior gleamed blindingly in the January sun. He looked at her, his eyes soft. His angered look had disappeared, replaced by a look of utter adoration. She took note of it and opened her own door, not knowing what to make of his change. She stepped out and waited for him to do so. She walked toward the house and noticed he was walking behind her. As she placed her hand on the doorknob, he stopped her and turned her around to face him.
“Kaia baby, I wasn’t mad at you. I want you to know that. I was mad at myself. I got carried away and it shouldn’t have happened. It felt good, though,” he admitted. “I hope it didn’t bother you that we almost made love.”
“No, it doesn’t. I wanted to make love to you, but I can wait.” Kaia said, “You said you didn’t have anything…well, let’s talk about that later. I have something to tell you.”

“What’s that?” he asked, puzzled.

“We’ll talk later,” she promised with a smile as she opened the door and walked into the great room. She looked around and saw Morgan standing in the kitchen. “Hi, Morgan.”

“Hey girl, where’ve you been?” Morgan teased with a knowing smile.

Kaia joined her as he noticed Chance taking a seat on the couch with Michael as he watched the bowl games.

“I left you a note. I was with Chance. He served me breakfast in bed,” she embellished.

“Lucky you! Did you…I mean, how was it?” Morgan quipped, curiously.

“Breakfast?”

“No, silly. You spent the night with him…how was it?”

“Morgan, just because you spent the night getting lucky doesn’t mean I did. Nothing happened. I took a bubble bath in his roman tub. We ate pizza, and talked. We did sleep in the same bed, but nothing happened. Okay?”

“If you say so.” Morgan jibed in disbelief, knowing there was something Kai wasn’t telling her.

“I do.”

“Alright!” she quipped, as she shook her head at her.

“He is a great kisser, though. We have a lot in common and I’m staying there again tonight.”

“You go, girl!”

Kaia laughed along with Morgan. “Can I help you with anything?” she asked.

“Sure, you can mash the potatoes and put the frozen corn on.” Morgan replied, “The ham is baking, as is the stuffing and crescent rolls. I’ve been cooking all morning. Oh, the gravy needs heated and I have pies cooling over there.”

“You have been at it.”

“Yes, I have, but you know how much I love to cook!” she quipped, sarcastically.

“What’s wrong, Morgan?” Kaia asked as she noticed her friend’s tone of voice.

“It’s nothing.”

“Morgan?”

“Mike and I had an argument, that’s all,” she shrugged. “It’s no big deal.”

“Are you sure?”

“I’m sure.”

“Okay,” Kaia nodded, “but if you want to talk about it, I’m here.”

“Thanks, Kaia. I appreciate that. Now let’s get done in here so we can eat.” Morgan smiled, happily.

A half hour later, Morgan and Kaia were setting the food on the table. “Looks good!” Kaia spoke up.

“Yeah, it does.” Morgan agreed as she set out the plates and silverware at the place settings, following up with glasses. “Guys, come and eat. Food’s on the table.”

Kaia and Morgan watched as Chance and Michael came to the dining room.

“Smells good. It looks delicious, ladies.” Chance complimented.

“Yes, looks delicious, Morgan.” Michael repeated as he sat down in a chair beside Morgan. “What we got to drink?”

“We have soda, juice, milk, coffee, and beer.” Morgan replied.

“Bring me a beer, darlin’. Hey dude, how ’bout you?”

“Just a soda.”

Morgan then said ‘grace’ before they all began to eat. Conversation became sparse as they turned their attention towards eating. The food was consumed and relished in short order, filling their stomachs.

“Would you like dessert, Chance?” Kaia asked as she brought an apple pie and a chocolate silk pie.

“Are you dessert?” he teased.

“Chance!”

“Well, I’d love to top you with whipped cream and devour you,” he quipped, as he drank in her beauty with his eyes.

Morgan choked on her coffee, sputtering noisily. “Uh-huh, Kaia, and you said nothing happened.”

“That’s right. Nothing happened.” Chance repeated. “I was merely teasing her. I like to see her cheeks grow pink.”

“Uh-huh? Like I believe that. You two did something and you know it and you’re not telling me, Kaia?” Morgan quipped, giving them an eager look.

Kaia ignored her as she cut both pies. “Want apple or chocolate?”

“Chocolate.”

“Kaia!” Morgan whined as Kaia served him a slice and topped it with a dollop of luscious whipped cream then served herself one.

“Morgan, there’s nothing to tell. We made out a little and teased each other a bit, but it went no further than that. Are you happy now?” Kaia retorted with an exasperated snort.

“Well, hell, girl, why didn’t you say so?” Morgan replied.

“Well, hell, girl, why are you being so damn nosy?” Kaia quipped, with mock anger, her eyes flashing mirthfully.

“This is good.” Chance spoke up, interceding on their verbal joust.

“Thank you.” Morgan nodded as she took a sip of her amoretto coffee, becoming quiet. Kaia noticed how distant she suddenly seemed now that their verbal spat had passed. She noticed that Michael once again sat in front of the TV, watching football and nursing a beer. She knew something wasn’t right. What had happened between last night and now? Kaia couldn’t shake the feeling that something wasn’t right. Why wouldn’t Morgan talk to her? Perhaps Morgan would confide in her soon…perhaps when Michael wasn’t around.

“Sweetie, what would you like to do tonight?” Chance asked.

“I don’t know. We could rent movies or go out to a club or see a movie or just do nothing at all.” Kaia replied. “Or we could go for a drive somewhere.”

“Well, I could take you to The Jungle Room if you’d like to go to a club. Have you ever been there?” Chance suggested.

“Can we?”

“Yes.”

“Great, I’d love to.”

“Would you and Michael like to go?” Chance asked Morgan who turned and looked at her long-time boyfriend who sat engrossed in the football game.

“Mike, can we?” she asked in a pleading voice.

“Can we what?” he questioned without taking his eyes off the TV.

“Can we go to The Jungle Room with Kaia and Chance?” Morgan repeated.

“Nah, I don’t wanna go. Football is on. You go ahead if you’d like,” he replied.

“Well?” Kaia asked, eagerly. “Are you coming with us or not?”

“Yes, I’d love to. It sure beats sitting at home watching football.” Morgan snidely replied. “The Jungle Room is cool. Mike and I have hung out there a few times before. I love those caged dance floors and the wild jungle theme.”

“Okay, ladies, it’s all settled. What time shall we go?”

“Eight-ish,” Morgan replied. “I can’t stay out too late, though. Work beckons tomorrow morning.”

“Same here!” Kaia added, “Say Morgan, do you have any idea what you’ll wear tonight? I don’t!”

“No, I’m not sure.”

Chance gave Kaia a devious smile, “Sugar, I liked what you had on last night. Why don’t you wear something like that?”

“I will,” she said as she finished her pie. “I have a couple of dresses like that. I’ll show them to you and let you pick.”

“Wear something sexy,” he suggested as his green eyes teased her with a look of utter hunger. “I’ll be the envy of all the other men there tonight. Of course, what guy wouldn’t want to be seen with two lovely ladies?”

Michael cleared his throat, “What kind of a womanizing piece of trash are you?” he gritted angrily. “My woman isn’t going anywhere with you!”

“Excuse me!” Chance retorted. “Piece of trash?!?!”

“You heard me! I know your type. You’re after Kaia for the sex, aren’t you? Otherwise a guy like you wouldn’t give her the time of day. If you think I’m gonna stand around and watch you use her and discard her once you get want what you want, you’re mistaken. Kaia is too good for you. Maybe you oughta get away from her and get the hell out of my house.” Michael scoffed.

“Look, you don’t even know me. I have never used a woman for sex. I like Kaia. I would never do that to her!” Chance defended, wondering what Michael’s problem was.

“I think you need to leave.”

“Let’s go, Kaia.” Chance said as he fought his growing anger.

Kaia looked at Morgan who sat with her face in her hands and then over at Michael who hadn’t relaxed his offensive stance and back at Chance whose face and eyes resembled a storm cloud.

“Michael, chill out.” Kaia pleaded, “I like Chance.”

“I had a guy picked out for you to meet. In fact, he’s coming over later.” Michael rebuked.

“She won’t be here. She’s my woman.” Chance growled as he picked up his keys. “Kaia, let’s go.”

“Alright, let me get some clothes and stuff,” she replied as she headed toward her room with Chance following behind her.

Once inside Kaia’s room with the door shut, Chance asked, “What’s his problem?”

“Hell if I know. He’s just like that at times. He and Morgan had an argument earlier today. She wouldn’t tell me what it was about, but I think I know now.”

“Us? Me?”

“Yeah, I think so.”

“Why?”

“Last night he tried to dissuade my interest in you before I even met you. I saw you and went gaga. He said he thought I was too good and would fix me up with a buddy of his. I didn’t take him seriously. It wasn’t something I was interested in.”

“I see.”

“He’s basing everything on appearance alone. He says he knows guys who look like you look, but he’s doesn’t know the real you,” Kaia started to explain.

“I get it.” Chance replied. “He’s wrong. Now show me those dresses.”

“Sure thing.” Kaia opened her sliding closet door and grabbed out a black halter dress with criss-cross straps in back, a matching red triangular mini top and skirt with a long slit in one side which showed off her flat middle. From a garment bag, she pulled out a sheer black micromesh mini dress with leather patches over the breasts and two large leather patches from the waist down front and back, leaving the thighs exposed. It had sheer long sleeves and a leather collar.

“I like that one. Damn, that looks so hot.”

“I’ve never worn this in public.” Kaia admitted. “The way it’s made I can’t wear anything beneath it.”

Chance raised an eyebrow suggestively, “I can’t wait to see you in it.”

“I have stockings and a special pair of gold spike stiletto heels that go with it.”

“Sounds so hot, baby. I have a feeling I’ll want to rip that dress off of you all night.” Chance teased, smoothly. “Damn, you’re getting me rock hard just thinkin’ about it.”

Kaia wrapped her arms around him, rubbing against him. “No matter how many guys are envious or how much they drool or stare, I will be leaving with you when it’s time to go home.”

“You’d better.”

“I will. I’ve always been told that you leave with whoever brought you to the dance. Besides in my eyes no one is more gorgeous than you are.” Kaia reassured him.

“Great, honey,” he smiled. “Let’s get ready to go.”

Kaia quickly packed the clothes she’d wear that night plus a set of work clothes for the next day. From her drawer she retrieved another set of nightclothes like the one’s she wore the night before and a set of underclothes. When he saw the matching royal blue demi-bra and flutter bikini panties, he plucked the panties from her hand.

“These are sexy,” he quipped as he let out a wolf whistle, much to her amusement. “Oooh, satiny…I like!”

“Chance, put those back.”

“Alright, but I can’t wait to see you in them.”

“Perhaps.”

“Tease me, please me, baby.” Chance groaned then let out a low sexy chuckle. “Woman, you are incredible! It’s no wonder I’m so damn hard all the time!”

“Shall I take care of that later?” Kaia purred, giving him a sexy smile.

“Don’t tease me like that! I may take you up on it.”

“Good!”

Chance let out a heavy tortured groan once more then put on a serious face. “I wish we could. You have affected me like no other woman has before. You make me want to forget the limitations I’ve set for myself and totally immerse myself in the sheer glory our passion would produce.”

Kaia leaned against him and met his lips halfway to receive a stunning kiss. Their desire for each other sent delicious bolts of sexual electricity racing along their nerve endings, igniting a flame of passion that heated their souls to a boiling frenzy.

Slowly they pulled away from each other, their eyes locked in a blissful stare. For several long minutes they gazed at each other, caught in a frantic need for complete and utter fulfillment. Chance embraced her once more, his arms securely wrapped around her body, holding her ever so tight. He needed her so…dare he give into their overwhelming passion for one another?

Kaia broke their silence. “It feels so good to be in your arms,” she murmured, as she nuzzled closer still, as close as she could.

“My thoughts exactly. You fit so well against me. You feel like heaven. You must be an angel.” Chance agreed. “Though I hate to do this, let’s go.”

Kaia nodded, pulling away from his warmth, and finished packing her overnight bag.

“Are you all ready to go?” he asked as he helped her with one of the garment bags.

“Yeah, although, I feel like I’m packed for a week.” Kaia quipped, with a saucy grin.

“I don’t mind, though. I like having you with me at my place,” he said as he followed her back into the great room. Morgan and Michael were nowhere in sight.
